Ready to make your wishes come true, Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre is thrilled to announce that stellar actress Susie Blake will star as the Genie, leading a truly fabulous cast in this year’s magical family pantomime.
Susie Blake’s extensive theatre credits include starring as Madame Morrible in the West End smash-hit musical Wicked. Susie last appeared here in our production of When We Are Married which transferred directly into the West End’s Garrick Theatre. Television credits include Coronation Street, Victoria Wood as seen on TV, Wild at Heart and the Sky1 family sitcom Parents.
One of the country’s top cabaret performers, the inimitable Kit Hesketh-Harvey returns to Guildford as Abanazar. Kit made his pantomime debut here as Dastardly Dick last year. His numerous West End performances include the critically-acclaimed musicals Salad Days and Tomfoolery, and he most recently toured in Cowardy Custard.
Surrey and Hampshire’s favourite breakfast show host, Eagle Radio’s Peter Gordon takes to the stage in majestic splendour, donning a regal aura as The Emperor of China, and Guildford favourite Royce Mills is equipped with a brand new wardrobe of outrageous frocks, ready to embark on his tenth Yvonne Arnaud pantomime as he presents Widow Twankey.
After her captivating performance as Jack last year, Emma Thornett returns to play the title role of Aladdin. A hugely talented performer, she created the role of Mary in the original production of David Essex’s All the Fun of the Fair, and has starred in Blood Brothers in the West End.
Full of energy, Joe Allen joins the team as the lovable Wishee Washee, helping Aladdin on his quest and bringing excitement and chaos to the Chinese Laundry. PC Pongo will be played by Guildford School of Acting graduate Jamie Brook, who made his professional acting debut on our stage in 2008.
Looking forward to working with such a talented collection of performers are Director and Choreographer Gerry Tebbutt and Associate Choreographer Jill Francis.
With spectacular costumes, a lavish set and sequins aplenty, this sparkling all-singing, all-dancing cast of established actors can’t wait to for you to join them on a magic carpet ride full of adventure in this enchanting family pantomime.
